‘He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”’
Over the past two months, one thing has been sticking out to me every time I read the bible.
He is my dwelling place.
He is my refuge.
Not worry, not to live a life of fear, not to listen to my ever-wandering heart, not to move from place to place but simply dwell in His house. To dwell in His house, to abide in the shadow of the almighty, and to know with all my heart I trust him. When the winters of this world blow, when the hurricanes happen and something so wonderful becomes something so tragic, when the pain hurt, when friendships hit difficulities…I shall still abide in His house and trust in Him. As Psalm 84: 1 saids, “How lovely is your dwelling place, O Lord…” and ” Even the sparrow finds a home…at your altars.”
He is my dwelling place and, ” I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness” (Psalm 84:10). In this dwelling place, there is no guilt in life and no fear in death. Here, no powers of hell can even rest at the doorsteps. Here, in my dwelling place I will abide until He calls me home.
